Meet Dr. Glen E. Jones
Dr. Jones was fortunate to discover a profession he was passionate about at an early age. He was first introduced to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery after needing jaw surgery in high school. His surgeon noticed his potential and enthusiasm, and was able to guide him in a direction to obtain a career in a profession that he continues to be just as passionate about today!
He was born and raised in rural Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and received his doctorate from University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1995. He then moved from Alabama to New York City where he completed both a General Practice Residency and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College (formerly know as New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center) in June 2000.
Dr. Jones enjoys all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a strong emphasis on implant restoration surgery. He attributes his successful practice to approaching every patient, whether it be a simple extraction or a complex facial fracture, with the same compassionate zeal.
He is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (FSOMS), Florida Society of Dental Anesthesiology (FSDA), ADA, FDA, and WCDDA. He is the current president of the Pinellas County Dental Association and delegate to the FDA. He is active staff at Largo Medical Center and West Bay Surgery Center. He is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and CPR certified. He gives back to the community by volunteering with several local charitable organizations. He actively lectures to professional groups and takes great pride in his role with BCJS Study Club.
He met his beautiful Californian wife (Dr. Margaret Young, a local endodontist) during their training and they made a decision to move to the Sunshine State where he immediately joined Bay Center for Oral & Implant Surgery in August 2000. Shortly after calling Florida home, they had two wonderful daughters, Anna and Sophia. Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with his family, boating and considers himself an avid snow skier, even though both of his daughters can beat him down a black diamond slope.
